| August 1 the exceeding greatness of His power toward us who believe Rom 8:11 But if the Spirit of Him who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you, He who raised Christ from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through His Spirit who dwells in you. (NKJ) Eph 1:19 and what is the exceeding greatness of His power toward us who believe, according to the working of His mighty power (NKJ) We thank God for the power of the Holy Spirit being in us and helping us. · August 2 have faith Heb 11:6 But without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him. (NKJ) Matt 6:33 “But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you. (NKJ) Lets seek God with all of our heart, soul and might. · August 3 share the Good News of Jesus Christ with others Mark 16:15-16 15 And He said to them, “Go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature. 16 “He who believes and is baptized will be saved; but he who does not believe will be condemned. (NKJ) John 3:16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. (KJV) Each of us can share the Good News of Jesus Christ with others! · August 4 God’s Word can be relied on Num 23:19 “God is not a man, that He should lie, nor a son of man, that He should repent. Has He said, and will He not do? Or has He spoken, and will He not make it good? (NKJ) Luke 21:33 Heaven and earth shall pass away: but my words shall not pass away. (KJV) We thank God for keeping His Word. We can totally rely on His Word. · August 5 God brings His Word to pass Isa 46:11b Indeed I have spoken it; I will also bring it to pass. I have purposed it; I will also do it. (NKJ) Isa 55:11 So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it. (KJV) There is power in the Word of God. We can proclaim it and see God fulfull what He has promised! · August 6 He who promised is faithful Heb 10:23 Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering, for He who promised is faithful. (NKJ) Gal 6:9 And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not. (KJV) We will receive God’s promise in our lives as we remain stedfast in our faith. · August 7 God says, `Fear not, I will help you.’ Isa 41:13 For I, the LORD your God, will hold your right hand, saying to you, `Fear not, I will help you.’ (NKJ) Ps 63:8 My soul followeth hard after thee: thy right hand upholdeth me. (KJV) We thank God for holding us and keeping us safe in all of our ways. · August 8 God gives us sleep Prov 3:24 When you lie down, you will not be afraid; yes, you will lie down and your sleep will be sweet. (NKJ) Ps 127:2 It is vain for you to rise up early, to sit up late, to eat the bread of sorrows: for so he giveth his beloved sleep. (KJV) We thank God for giving us peaceful sleep when we need it. · August 9 Don’t be fearful, have faith Mark 4:40 But He said to them, “Why are you so fearful? How is it that you have no faith?” (NKJ) Rom 10:17 So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God. (KJV) We thank God for helping our faith grow as we hear His Word which we have in the Bible. · August 10 Friends to our Lord Jesus Christ John 15:15 “No longer do I call you servants, for a servant does not know what his master is doing; but I have called you friends, for all things that I heard from My Father I have made known to you. (NKJ) James 2:23 And the scripture was fulfilled which saith, Abraham believed God, and it was imputed unto him for righteousness: and he was called the Friend of God. (KJV) Just like Abraham, we can be friends with God as we believe and obey His Word. · August 11 A friend loves at all times Prov 17:17 A friend loves at all times, and a brother is born for adversity. (NKJ) Prov 18:24 A man that hath friends must shew himself friendly: and there is a friend that sticketh closer than a brother. (KJV) We can be friendly to those around us. With God’s grace and help, we can be faithful friends. · August 12 much fruit John 15:5 “I am the vine, you are the branches. He who abides in Me, and I in him, bears much fruit; for without Me you can do nothing. (NKJ) John 12:24 Verily, verily, I say unto you, Except a corn of wheat fall into the ground and die, it abideth alone: but if it die, it bringeth forth much fruit. (KJV) As we die to the world and its temptations and live for our Lord Jesus Christ, we will see much fruit in our lives. · August 13 productive in old age Ps 92:14 They shall still bear fruit in old age; they shall be fresh and flourishing, (NKJ) Ps 1:2-3 2 But his delight is in the law of the LORD; and in his law doth he meditate day and night. 3 And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper. (KJV) We thank God for fruitfulness all the days of our lives as we abide in His Word! · August 14 judge ourselves I Jn 3:20 For if our heart condemns us, God is greater than our heart, and knows all things. (NKJ) 1 Cor 11:31 For if we would judge ourselves, we would not be judged. (NKJ) Each of us can judge ourselves. We evaluate where we have made good choices and where we have not. We ask God to forgive us of wrong choices. · August 15 confess our sins in prayer Isa 43:25 “I, even I, am He who blots out your transgressions for My own sake; and I will not remember your sins. (NKJ) I Jn 1:9 If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. (NKJ) We thank God for forgiving our sins and cleansing us from all wrong as we confess them. · August 16 we can return to our Lord God 2 Chr 30:9c ” for the LORD your God is gracious and merciful, and will not turn His face from you if you return to Him.” (NKJ) I Jn 1:9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. (KJV) We thank God for forgiveness of sins as we turn from any sin and ask for forgiveness. · August 17 we can praise our Lord at all times Ps 18:3 I will call upon the LORD, who is worthy to be praised; so shall I be saved from my enemies. (NKJ) Rev 4:11 Thou art worthy, O Lord, to receive glory and honour and power: for thou hast created all things, and for thy pleasure they are and were created. (KJV) We can praise God in the midst of any and all situations. We trust God to keep us and protect us! · August 18 when I fall, I will arise Micah 7:8 Do not rejoice over me, my enemy; when I fall, I will arise; when I sit in darkness, the LORD will be a light to me. (NKJ) Jude 1:24 Now unto him that is able to keep you from falling, and to present you faultless before the presence of his glory with exceeding joy, (KJV) We thank God for lifting us out of trouble and keeping us from falling again. Ps 3:3 But thou, O LORD, art a shield for me; my glory, and the lifter up of mine head. (KJV) · August 19 The Lord Jesus Christ is our defence Nahum 1:7 The LORD is good, a strong hold in the day of trouble; and he knoweth them that trust in him. (KJV) Ps 1:6 For the LORD knows the way of the righteous, but the way of the ungodly shall perish. (NKJ) Each day we trust God to keep us! We rest in the righteousness that we have through Jesus Christ our Savior. · August 20 we have been adopted into our Heavenly Father’s family Rom 8:15-16 15 For ye have not received the spirit of bondage again to fear; but ye have received the Spirit of adoption, whereby we cry, Abba, Father. 16 The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God: (KJV) John 1:12 Yet to all who received him, to those who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God– (NIV) We thank God for adopting us and making us His children as we receive His Son, Jesus Christ, as our Lord and Savior! · August 21 As Christians, we have the Holy Spirit within us. Ezek 36:27 “I will put My Spirit within you and cause you to walk in My statutes, and you will keep My judgments and do them. (NKJ) 1 Cor 3:16 Know ye not that ye are the temple of God, and that the Spirit of God dwelleth in you? (KJV) As Christians, we have been baptized by the Holy Spirit into the body of Christ. 1 Cor 12:13 For by one Spirit are we all baptized into one body, whether we be Jews or Gentiles, whether we be bond or free; and have been all made to drink into one Spirit. (KJV) · August 22 we are begotten to a living hope 1 Pet 1:3 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who according to His abundant mercy has begotten us again to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, (NKJ) John 1:13 Which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God. (KJV) Through faith in our Lord Jesus Christ, we are born again and have eternal and abundant life! · August 23 humility Matt 23:12 “And whoever exalts himself will be humbled, and he who humbles himself will be exalted. (NKJ) Ps 138:6 Though the LORD be high, yet hath he respect unto the lowly: but the proud he knoweth afar off. (KJV) I like to look at humility as realizing that we are not smarter than God and that going God’s Way is the best way. · August 24 believe that you receive Mark 11:24 “Therefore I say to you, whatever things you ask when you pray, believe that you receive them, and you will have them. (NKJ) I Jn 5:15 And if we know that He hears us, whatever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we have asked of Him. (NKJ) We know that God hears and answers believing prayer. · August 25 grace to the humble James 4:6 But He gives more grace. Therefore He says: “God resists the proud, but gives grace to the humble.” (NKJ) 2 Cor 12:9 And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me. (KJV) We thank God for giving us grace, favor and strength as we rely completely on our Lord Jesus Christ. · August 26 he has covered me with the robe of righteousness Isa 61:10 I will greatly rejoice in the LORD, my soul shall be joyful in my God; for He has clothed me with the garments of salvation, he has covered me with the robe of righteousness, as a bridegroom decks himself with ornaments, and as a bride adorns herself with her jewels. (NKJ) Luke 15:22 But the father said to his servants, Bring forth the best robe, and put it on him; and put a ring on his hand, and shoes on his feet: (KJV) We thank God for covering us with the right standing that we have by faith in our Lord Jesus Christ! · August 27 the joy of the Lord is our strength Neh 8:10 Then he said to them, “Go your way, eat the fat, drink the sweet, and send portions to those for whom nothing is prepared; for this day is holy to our LORD. Do not sorrow, for the joy of the LORD is your strength.” (NKJ) Ps 28:7 The LORD is my strength and my shield; my heart trusted in him, and I am helped: therefore my heart greatly rejoiceth; and with my song will I praise him. (KJV) We thank God for strengthening us as we rejoice in our Lord Jesus Christ. We praise and worship our King Jesus Christ! · August 28 let patience have its perfect work Prov 17:27 He who has knowledge spares his words, and a man of understanding is of a calm spirit. (NKJ) James 1:4 But let patience have its perfect work, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking nothing. (NKJ) With God�s help, we choose to be patient and walk in love toward others! · August 29 Great peace have those who love Your law Ps 119:165 Great peace have those who love Your law, and nothing causes them to stumble. (NKJ) Isa 26:3 You will keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on You, because he trusts in You. (NKJ) We thank God for giving us peace that passes understanding! · August 30 let us love one another I Jn 4:7 Beloved, let us love one another, for love is of God; and everyone who loves is born of God and knows God. (NKJ) I Jn 3:14 We know that we have passed from death to life, because we love the brethren. He who does not love his brother abides in death. (NKJ) As Christians, God gives us the strength to love people around us. · August 31 the LORD loves the righteous Ps 146:8 The LORD opens the eyes of the blind; the LORD raises those who are bowed down; the LORD loves the righteous. (NKJ) John 14:21 He that hath my commandments, and keepeth them, he it is that loveth me: and he that loveth me shall be loved of my Father, and I will love him, and will manifest myself to him. (KJV) We have right standing with God through our Lord Jesus Christ. We thank God for loving us and keeping us! |
